Goodbye Takahashi

It saddened me indescribably to hear of Kazuki Takahashi's death. He created the world of Yu-Gi-Oh and the subsequent spin-offs, and I have so much to thank him for; the detailed manga, the larger than life anime, an incredibly fun game, and the friends I've made along the way. This was the least I could do for someone who meant so much to me, and still does to this day.

I wanted to make something that reflected the moment at the end of the first Yu-Gi-Oh series where the main character says goodbye to his doppelganger. It's such a sad moment in the show, but also so happy that they can all say goodbye and let go. I had Takahashi do the same thing, give us all a thumbs up to let us know he's okay on the next leg of his journey and to keep going ourselves.

I also added in all the hands and cards of the protagonists of each anime series. Even after I got all the personalities of said protagonists in their hand poses done, my critics said it still didn't feel finished, so I added overlays of each characters' ace monster. Now not only are the protagonists but the monsters Takahashi helped create are saying goodbye to him alongside us. I hope my piece captured all that and made him happy wherever he is now.
